A home in Argostoli. Since 1919.

We raise children who have lost their parents or cannot stay at home, until they finish school, study, and stand on their own feet.

Shelter, food, education and support for children who need it, until they stand on their own feet.

Up to twenty children from age 8 live here, attend the town schools and go on to further study. The home has run since 1919 on donations alone.

Who we support
Boys and girls from age 8, orphaned or from families with serious problems, from Kefalonia and beyond. Licensed capacity is twenty children.
How we work
An eight-member board of women from Argostoli, a director, social worker, psychologist and five carers. We work with special educators and speech therapists.
How we are funded
Entirely by donations and bequests of Kefalonians in Greece and abroad. The home receives no state funding and pays taxes every year.
